How does the teleprompter follow your voice?
Cue matches your speech to the script in real time, highlighting the current word in yellow and dimming the words you already read. The line you are reading stays near the top of the screen by the front camera, helping you maintain eye contact with the lens.
If you pause, the scrolling stops. If you skip a sentence or add extra words, Cue automatically finds your place when you return to the script.
Should you use voice scrolling or a fixed speed?
Voice scrolling adapts to your natural speaking pace. A fixed speed requires you to match a preset tempo.
| Situation | Constant speed | AI Voice Follow |
|---|---|---|
| You pause | Continues scrolling | Stops and waits |
| You speak faster | Falls behind | Speeds up with you |
| Loud environment | Scrolls normally | Might lose your place |
How to use the voice-tracking teleprompter
-
Paste your script
Type your script directly in Cue, or paste text from Notes, documents, or websites.
-
Turn on AI Voice
Open the prompter settings and set Scrolling to AI Voice. Cue detects your script language automatically.
-
Start reading
Tap record and read out loud. The script scrolls with your voice while the camera records up to 4K video.
What is a voice teleprompter good for?
Talking to the camera
Read your script naturally while looking directly at the camera lens for social media videos.
Product demos
Look down at your hands to show an app or physical product. The script waits until you face the camera and speak again.
Reading in a second language
Take your time pronouncing difficult words. The prompter only moves when you successfully say the next word.
Talks and presentations
Practice a speech or record a formal presentation without memorizing the entire text.
Tips for using AI Voice Follow
- Record in a quiet room. Background noise or other people talking can confuse the microphone.
- If the automatic language detection fails, you can select the correct language manually in the settings.
- If you make a mistake or go off script, just keep reading. Cue scans ahead to find your new position.
- If you are recording in a noisy location, switch the scrolling mode to Constant.

Frequently asked questions
Does AI Voice Follow require an internet connection?
No. The speech recognition runs entirely on your device. It works offline, and your voice is never uploaded or saved.
What happens if I skip a line?
Just keep speaking. The app listens to what you say and automatically jumps to the correct place in the script.
Will the prompter text appear in my recorded video?
No. The text is only visible to you on the screen while recording. The final video shows only the camera feed.
Can I use a fixed scrolling speed instead?
Yes. Open the prompter settings, change the Scrolling option to Constant, and use the slider to set your speed.
Does the voice follow feature work on iPad?
Yes. The Cue app and the AI Voice Follow feature work on both iPhone and iPad devices.
